Finally, I have found the last puzzle piece. Seriously, this has been like a wild goose chase through grocery stores across the country! LOL! Since I first heard that General Mills was converting 6 of their Chex Cereals over to gluten-free, I have been keeping my eyes peeled for the cereals. I was in Atlanta over Spring Break; I looked in several grocery stores there. I was in North & South Carolina for the past 2 weeks and looked in several grocery stores there. I have looked in every grocery store here in Columbus. Before today I had found every new variety of gluten-free Chex cereal, except for Cinnamon, which I did an exchange for with my pal Lisa. Lisa couldn’t find the Strawberry, so we did an exchange. 🙂
Today I had to run to Kroger to grab a couple things. Normally I don’t shop at Kroger, but I hadn’t looked there recently for my Chex and I wanted to check for the Betty Crocker Gluten-Free mixes there, too. I swear I danced in the aisle when I found those GF Chocolate Chex. I wish you could have seen it. You all know how much I love chocolate, this stuff is heaven in a box!! I think that this is by far my favorite variety, though I don’t have any that I don’t like. As a matter of fact, I think I have all 6 varieties in my pantry right now! **BLUSH** Hi, my name is Kim and I am a cereal-a-holic! I can’t wait to start making some of the snack mixes that Chex has on their website! The best part about these Chex (other than them being chocolate)? They are $2.99! The other Chex cereals are $3.49 at Kroger. I don’t know why these are cheaper, but I bought 2 boxes. 🙂 This product gets 5 stars from me!!
Want to know what else? I found 3 out of the 4 Betty Crocker Mixes at Kroger! WOOHOO!!!!
I was a little disappointed at the price ($4.49/box) and that they didn’t have the Devil’s Food Cake, but hey, it is a start. I’ll take it. I am just excited that General Mills is taking this step. It is huge!! Gluten-free food has come a long way in the past 3 years since I have been following the diet. I will review these 1 by 1 as I bake & sample them. Hopefully starting tomorrow. 🙂

Woo Hoo! You really hit the jackpot! I haven’t found either the Chocolate Chex or the GF mixes yet. Of course, I haven’t really been scouting around the area like you! I’m sure I will be doing the happy dance when I find them too! LOL!
Can’t wait to hear your reviews of the mixes.
If you like them and want to stock up, Amazon.com has the Yellow and Devil’s Food mixes ~ a carton of 6 boxes for $23.84. I’m not sure, but I think you may even get free shipping on an order of $25 or more.
Thanks Lisa! I checked out Amazon. You can do the subscribe & save & get the case for $20.26 and free shipping!! That is a deal! 🙂
Wow. That is a deal! I’d want to try them out before I commit to 6 boxes though. Do you know what the shelf-life is on them?
You’re so funny. Enjoy your treasures. Do those products have rice in them and more than 5 ingredients?
Yes, they do have rice & more than 5 ingredients. Here is the list:

I have to say that while they are extremely tasty & probably my fav, they are more of a “treat”. They sugar content is 8 grams and while there are others that are higher, that is a lot for me. I use cereal as a snack and my blood sugar tanked after eating this yesterday, even though I ate dinner 2-2.5 hours later. It has been a long time since that happened. I even mixed it with Erewhon Brown Rice cereal which has next to no sugar in it. They would be good over some coffee or vanilla ice cream! 😉
how WEIRD!
i literally was at Kroger last night scoping the aisles for the Chex and Betty Crocker mixes….my husband thought i was CRAZY!
i also bought the chocolate chex and the three mixes you posted…i was bummed that they didn’t have the chocolate cake:(
like you, i was SURPRISED with the price.
i guess i had my $1.29 price in mind, like the other “regular” cake mixes.
have a good day!
That is weird!!! Glad you found them too!!! The Devil’s food cake is available on Amazong. Look a comment or 2 above yours.
BTW, those waffles I got in NC for $2.50 on sale were $5 or $5.99 at Kroger! Guess I will be waiting for a sale! LOL!!
Hope you have a great day, too!
oh man.
i didn’t even think about looking for the waffles @ Kroger.
i normally don’t shop there, but i’ve learned they have quite a large selection of GF items !
i did buy Oikos greek yogurt on sale…buy one, get one free. can’t beat the deals 🙂
BTW…i luv your spanish PB post!
you’ve given a lot of cool GF information today.
Erin…
I forgot to mention the Oikos was buy one, get one. I did get a few of those as well. I normally don’t shop there either!

[…] out that title. Today is finally the day! Can I get an AMEN?? LOL! I posted yesterday that I had finally found the GF Chocolate Chex & 3 of the 4 Betty Crocker Mixes at […]
Kim ~ Doing the happy dance today! I found Chocolate Chex at our Hannaford store! I bought two boxes. Looks like that will be my snack this evening!!! Didn’t find the BC mixes yet, though. *sniff* I’m sure I’ll find them soon! 🙂
YAY!!! I can’t wait to hear what you think!! 🙂
I, too, have done the “happy dance” in the grocery store aisles when I have found all 4 BC mixes. And the chocolate chex. However, I cannot find the strawberry one yet – but I am determined to find it somewhere. Of course, I never got to try the chocolate chex, my 5 year old daughter beat me to the box – and made quick work of it. At least she loved them 🙂
Wouldn’t it be cool if GM/Chex/Betty Crocker made a commercial that shows a person who has to eat GF shopping in the store and then doing a happy dance when they find one of their GF products? LOL!
Check the ingredient labels on the Strawberry. The boxes I bought a month or so ago were labeled “GF”, but had no gluten in the ingredients.
Glad your daughter likes the chex. 🙂
