Here's another bread that's really good - Gluten Free Naturals Multi-Grain Bread Flour www.gfnfoods.com
which includes healthy grains such as Sorghum, Teff and Amaranth that allows people who are on a gluten-free diet to bake and enjoy soft, springy and light bread that can be sliced thinly for sandwiches and doesn't need toasting.
It's closest to the real bread we used to eat before going gluten free. I bought it locally at Hillers Markets, but you can order online too

Thanks Cheryl!! I get so nervous eating at other people's houses. Most of my family has it down, thankfully. :)

Have a great holiday!

LOL!! Sure!! :) I have no idea why they are called that. My Grandma started making them years ago and they are easy to make ahead & then toss in the oven. Recipe will be up next week. :)

Deb,

I hope to get the potatoes recipe up next week. It is basically mashed potatoes with cream cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder & cheddar cheese all mixed together & then baked like that. They are soooooo good! Not a healthy or low-cal dish, but perfect for a Holiday splurge. We do use low-fat cream cheese & cheddar to cut back on some of the fat & calories, though.

The brown rice couscous is made by Lundberg. A friend sent me a package, but after she did, I saw it in my local health food store for the first time. We just had it tonight and it was very good.

Rona,

Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Are you talking about dry, powdered milk? I have never used it as a sub for milk in a recipe. I have used it in a recipe that called for it, though. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for the post. I think that first attempt at GF bread is *always* depressing. I had a GF sandwich at a cafe the other day (my first sandwich since July) and it was so lacking, I think I'd just as soon not eat anything resembling bread at all! I'll have to try out Udi's.

I wanted to second your recommendation of Bob's Red Mill pizza crust though! We have pizza at least once a week, so I always buy that mix by the case. So yummy.
