Product Review: Trader Joe’s Moisturizing Cream

I don’t know about you guys, but my skin is very dry this time of year.  Not only the skin on my legs & arms, but my hands are so dry they are cracking!  I wash my hands 40,000 times a day, so that has a lot to do with it.  Okay, maybe it isn’t that much, but it is a lot. Between changing diapers, making gluten-filled foods for Hannah and just staying germ free, I feel like I am constantly at the sink.  I have tried many hand lotions in the past.  Last year I talked about using Curel Target Hand Cream.  I found a new product that I am now loving last week.  I was shopping at one of my favorite stores, Trader Joe’s, when I spotted this lotion:

Trader Joe’s A Midsummer Night’s Cream – Extra Dry Formula.  I am surprised it didn’t say “For Kim” on the front.  This 16 oz. bottle (complete with handy dandy hand pump) was under $4.  I keep this puppy right next to my kitchen sink so that after I soap up & dry, I can immediately apply the cream.  So far, so good.  Jon has also been using it and it helped his dry hands, too.  This product is gluten-free and cruelty-free (produced with no animal by-products and without any animal testing.

  3. Thanks for the review! I have lotion on my grocery list on the fridge. I think a trip to Trader Joe’s is in order.

  4. Wow, that looks great! Thanks for posting, I will look for it! 🙂

  5. This lotion is my stand-by too. It has natural oils that penetrate your skin whereas the ‘regular’ drug store brands all contain petroleum and mineral oil which just coat your skin and do not moisturize. TJ’s lotion is full of natural moisturizers – I am a huge fan!!

  6. Just bought the cream, love it. Feels great on my feet too!

  7. This cream is the best I’ve ever had, and for this price it’s a gift! I use it not only on my body but on my face too. It’s one of the few creams (including expensive face creams) that doesn’t irritate my eyes. It absorbs quickly, is not greasy, and feels great all day long – I am 56 🙂
If you’d like to try it first, ask the cashier at Trader Joe’s for a tester.

  8. New to your site and I love it! Today I bought TJ’s Midsummer Cream because you said it was gluten free! My son has allergies to soy, gluten, milk, and egg. Do you know if this cream is absent off these ingredients also? I assume the egg is but who knows about the rest! Thank you!
